I will try and help with this problem with your HOTPOINT-ARISTON LDFA++12H14 Dishwasher
On this model, your error E3 code is Water drain failure/ timeout. This means that you may have a blockage or the pump is not working correctly. You need to actually take the pump off and inspect this for any bits jamming the impeller. I have put some videos below that might help you

Dear Paul Charmbury,
Error of my dishwasher was F 3. I took the pump off, there is not problem with the impeller , but in the chamber behind of the impeller there is water, when I shake the pump water drops come out,Is this normal? I coud not open this chamber. I opened motor coils chamber, motor coils are dry . Can I check the motor by 220 v?
What is your advise?
