by / Wednesday, 17 May 2017 / Published in

I have an indesit washer dryer which washes ok but the dryer has stopped working. I think the fan has packed up. the element get hot and the drum slowly rotate one way and the then the other until the heat probably get to much and lights start flashing, it stops and I have to turn it of at the mains as the stop button wont turn the machine off. when its cooled down, it starts and works well that is apart from the dryer. Can you tell me what do I need to fix it?

I will try and help with this problem Indesit WIDL126 washer dryer not heating

Good afternoon Chris.

I have not got a video on this specific one but I can tell you you should have a trickle of water coming in from one of the water valves when it's on the drying function, the element will heat up and the fan should be turning, but as you say you could not see the fan tuning you could do a meter check for continuity to make sure the motor is good, but the best way to test it is to take the motor off and bench test it as this is a 240v motor you will be able to test it and make sure it's spinning at the correct the RPM, this is a common fault with these motors and they can overheat because they are not turning freely

If you need any further assistance please feel free to contact me. all the best Paul.
