Neff B1542N0GB/01 Oven light stays on

by / Tuesday, 21 July 2020 / Published in

When replacing the heating element I short-circuited the system. Since then, the light stays on. Obviously one of the two control knobs (oven or fan-oven is wrong. Which one? Also how do I disassemble the push-push relevant switches with no screws visible front or behind plate?

I will try and help with this problem

If the light stays on, it can be either of the two selector switches or either of the two thermostats. I've pointed them out in the exploded diagram below and added pictures with links to purchase them as well. As to how to access the selector switch without having the oven in front of me I can't say for sure, but usually you'd have to remove the oven from the kitchen cabinet, and open the top/back metal cover to expose the control area. From there should be easy to look at it and understand how to take them out. When replacing selector switches it very important to take pictures of the wiring before disconnecting them so you can put them all back in the correct place after. It will bet likely that one of the switches will have marks of burning in them.
