How To Replace Tumble Dryer Belt, Motor or Bearings on Whirlpool ,Bauknecht, Laden, Maytag
If you find that you have to replace the belt, motor or bearings on your 6th sense tumble dryer made by Whirlpool, Bauknecht, Laden, Maytag, this video will show the basic techniques for doing this.
About the Tumble Dryer belt, motor, bearings
Tumble Dryer Belts
If your Tumble Dryer is not turning you need to check that the belt is in good order Take the tumble dryer lid of and check that the belt is firmly on the drum, and the belt is not slipping on to the motor shaft, check the pulley tension wheel. If it is, you might have a problem with the motor or capacitor, see other videos on this.
Tumble Dryer motor
The motor has two fan blades on it to circulate the air in the drying process and these can warp if the dryer has ever over heated.
If you need to test the motor then you can get the test ratings in the pdf below.
Tumble Dryer back bearing
If your dryer has started to become slightly noisy it is well worth checking the back bearing, you could also remove the whole drum to look at pads and wheels on the front of the dryer to check for wear.
The other things to do while you have the dryer apart, is make sure you thoroughly clean the inside to remove all built up fluff and dust as this will prolong the life of the dryer and also improve the working efficiency of the dryer.

Hello Paul,
it´s about the 6th sense, Bauknecht Tumble Dryer in Germany the name ist Whirlpool AZB 6070. I have the following problem: If i press the Start button nothing happens. No Noise, no LED is on. Do you know if there is an fuse which can be removed. I have successfully checked if there is electric current at the contacts. But my problem is now how to remove the front panel to check if there is electric current at the control unit at all.
May be you have a solution or instructions to find the error, Tanks in advance
With kind regards Martin
Hi, i followed your tutorial and replaced the belt.
but now the dryer is turning on for a few seconds and the fault code turning on again.
can you know what the problem could be ?
Thank you for this helpful tutorial!
Your video was very clear and helped me realise how easy it was to fix this myself saving my hundreds. I just bought a new fan propellor as the design is very poor and the spring washer cuts into the hub, so it’s just a matter of time before it breaks. I’ll add a flat washer behind the spring washer on the new one and remove that risk. I’ll never buy a whirlpool again.
Thanks for the video. Really useful.
I have a whirlpool condenser dryer model AZB 8680
The drum has stopped turning and there is a humming noise when you turn the machine on .
I have checked the belt , the bearing on the drum are not worn the tension pullies seem ok I tried a new capcitor and the same fault occured. Which makes me think it could be the motor, how can I check this or could it be anything else.
I would be gratefull for any help and sugestions,
thank you
