Indesit DFE1B19UK Dishwasher Stops, Beeps & Flashing Light When It Comes to the Wash Cycle

Indesit DFE1B19UK Dishwasher rinses fine. When it comes to to the wash cycle and heating the water, it starts beeping and flashing. Spray arms and drains are also fine from what I can see. I think possibly heater has gone.

Hi Damion, I'm sorry to hear about the issues with your Indesit dishwasher. Looking at the diagrams below, you'll see that the heating system is connected to the motor. There are usually two thermostats within this system that can blow. Unfortunately, you can't replace just the thermostats – you'll need to replace the entire heater on motor system. (part number 19 in the diagram)

Additionally, I've noticed in recent months that the fill system on the left side of the machine, where water flows in, can sometimes get clogged and faulty. This can lead to incorrect information being sent to the dishwasher. You should check this area for any build-up of sludge over time.

So, make sure to inspect both the heating system and the water intake system. Once the machine fills with water, it should enter a distribution mode where it sprays water around before the heating system kicks in after a few seconds. This depends on which cycle you've selected, of course. If the heater isn't turning on and the water isn't warming up, the most common issue is with the thermostats on the heating unit.
