Bosch WTV7600 Tumble Dryer Kept Stopping…

Hey Paul, Thanks for the chat this am... I plugged in the new switch to my Bosch WTV7600 Tumble Dryer and that did the trick! If was a bit finicky at first as something was obviously not connected properly but the lil darlin has been spinning merrily for about 40 min now... Thanks again.... I will subscribe and send you a few bucks for a beer! Thanks again mate!

Good morning Rob and Gail. As I mentioned on the phone, replacing the link switches on the circuit board can be quite tricky. To do this, you'll need to remove all the solder using a soldering vacuum pump. Make sure none of the link switches' connection points touch the bars before taking it out.

If you try to lift the link switch while there's still solder, it could damage the circuit board's tracks. You've been fortunate to repair this, as the tracks seemed damaged from what you described. However, you managed to attach the new link switch successfully, ensuring good contact with each terminal legs. I was very surprised that no diodes or resistors had blown as these normally become faulty when the link switch fails.

Let's hope there's enough "meat" on the tracks to keep it going for years to come. The last thing you want is for any tracks to burn out because they can't carry the right amperage due to wear.

I'm glad you got it working, and as I mentioned earlier, if it breaks again, consider looking for a second-hand circuit board on eBay or other shopping platforms in Canada. Have a great weekend!
