Candy Gcc580nc 80 Tumble dryer Motor kicks in but drum does not turn

by / Thursday, 08 February 2018 / Published in

I need to source a 7uf capacitor can you help? Thanks so much for the speedy reply. Just one more question. The capacitor you recommend is the same spec but the one I've removed is shorter in length. I've noticed mine looks more like a hotpoint/indesit one than the candy ones I've seen online. Its length measures 58mm excluding thread and terminals and with its 35 mm diameter looks stubbier than the one you have. The body is also metal. Does any of this matter? There is plenty of clearance at the back of the capacitor to accept a your longer capacitor so I'm hoping all will be well. Please advise. Thanks. Lee

I will try and help with this problem Candy Gcc580nc 80 Tumble dryer

If your tumble dryer is not turning on you have to give it a push to actually get the drum to rotate, then it is the capacitor. The one I have listed below is the one I always use, it will fit they are slightly different in size but this will not make any difference, for some unknown reason the manufacturer only sells the genuine capacitor with the motor which is expensive, as you see in the video below this is the one that I use and it will save you a small fortune.
