Defy Maximaid 720 washing machine Does not start Program
Program selected pressed start button, stays on for 30 seconds, start flashing, program does not start. Tested doorlock, Got ohm reading. Should I still re[place the doorlock. One of the last times the machine worked I was able to open the door while program was working. Should I first replace the doorlock

I will try and help with this problem with your Defy Maximaid 720 washing machine
I am not very familiar with this make as I think it is from Africa, but it looks like it could be one of the European made machines. I would just check the door lock properly. I have included a video below to assist you but if this does not work then it does look like you may have a problem with the circuit board

Good day Paul,
Thanks for the advice. I want to give you some feedback so that you can post it on your web should somebody are experiencing the same symptoms.
Defy Maximaid 720 DAW 319 (2008 Model)
Cause:
While a program was running I was able to open the door and all the water spilled out, which should not happen if the interlock switch was working correctly. After I closed the door no program wanted to start. The time the program has to perform is displaying correctly and when you press the start/Pause button, the light goes on for 30 seconds and then the light start flashing which indicated a Pause status. This was a clear indication that the circuit board was not faulty as the program lengths displayed correctly.
Solution:
I replaced the Door Interlock switch and everything was working perfectly thereafter. I opened the old switch and found out that the little twist on the copper plate was broken where it makes contact on the other half of the plate resulting in not closing the circuit to start a program.
I also used this opportunity to clean the input buckets as well as all filters. Works like a new machine now.
Thanks for your assistance
Regards
