Neff Oven B14M42N3GB/04 Oven lamp popped/exploded

Hi Paul,Thank you so much for replying. I’ve copied our correspondence in below. My oven wasn’t on at the time, I only turned the light on. Also, both the grill and the oven don’t work - do they have separate elements? An electrician is about to come round and check the elements so I’ll have the answer to that soon. I am guessing that, because now both the oven and grill and the bulb don’t work - it is something that connects these 3 together?I’m not sure the electrician will know about this but at leas the can cross off the elements issue.Thank you for your patience! I’m trying to work out what to feed my little boy until I can get it going again. Claudiamy oven tripped the electrical board, now stopped heating and I think the fan oven element has blown could you give me some help on what part I need and how to change itjulie smithPaul answersI will try and help with this problem with your Neff B14M42N3GB oven There were two models of this cooker please check before buying parts Neff oven B14M42N3GB/04B14M42N3GB/01Electric built-in ovenThere are two elements in your cooker one is the grill and the other is the fan oven​, as you were using the oven at the time when it blew I suspect the elements have blown. I have included a video below to help you test the element and also a video on how to change the element.

I will try and help with your Neff Oven B14M42N3GB/04 problem.

If the bulb has blown and it tripped the electricity supply then it would automatically turn the timer to automatic as this is the factory setting I suggest you set up the timer correctly before going any further, If the oven then works correctly all you will need to do is replace the bulb you can find this below the exploded diagram below

Common Neff Oven B14M42N3GB/04 faults with links to the right repair guide

  • The oven will not turn on

The first thing you need to check is that the oven timer is not on auto if it is, turn it on to manual.

  • No Heat in Oven

If the fan is running and the thermostat light comes on but you get no heat (or just the thermostat light on in non-fan ovens and cookers) then the probability is that the fan element or oven elements have failed.

  • Electricity trips (Rcd) when I turn the oven on or grill

This is normally an element that has gone to earth, This is a well-known fault with electric ovens, the insulation breaks down in the elements and trips the RCD , best way is to stick a meter on each element and check that they have not got earth leaks on them. But this can also be a wiring fault.

  • The grill element doesn't work

This would usually indicate that the grill element is faulty. Check these: Grill element, Oven changeover switch, Overheat thermostat, Main oven thermostat, if used to regulate the grill temperature.

  • The oven fan is not working or spinning correctly (slow) or is noisy

The fan motor may need to be replaced see video on this also the cooling fan motor can cause same problems.

  • The oven overheats and burns everything

Normally this is a simple thermostat failure which would manifest itself as this symptom.

  • The oven or cooker cuts out after it's been on for a while

This is an overheating problem which can be caused by the fan motor or main oven thermostat or a faulty safety thermostat that will be causing the problem. It can also be caused by a failure of the cooling fan, where fitted, but usually these go noisy before failing, Safety thermostats are used to prevent the oven or cooker overheating and will shut the oven down.
