Neff U1421N2GB/05 oven Trips rcd griil ok but oven causes the problem not heating

Hi,I have a neff U1421N2GB /05. It’s developed a fault with the top oven. If I select oven on the dial it’s fine, but as as soon as I turn the temperature up it trips the RCD. If I select grill and turn the temperature up it doesn’t trip and the grill element gets hot.Do you know if this is fixable and which part is needed? I appreciate any help you can give.ThanksMatt

For your Neff oven that appears to be causing the electricity supply to trip, I recommend conducting a few tests on its elements. The base element, as illustrated in the exploded diagram provided below, is often the first to fail in this top oven.

To test this, you will require an insulation tester, also known as a mega. However, this can be quite a costly tool. Alternatively, I suggest disconnecting the base element, ensuring the wires are secure and insulated, before operating the cooker once more. If the element no longer trips, it is likely that the base element is at fault.

Base of an element is part number 00298539

Regrettably, I have located the part number for your base element but discovered it has been discontinued. You may need to search further afield for a replacement; I have included its position on the diagram for your reference.

The exploded diagram encompasses all components: lights, hinges, door seals, grill element, base element, fan oven element and fan motor. It would also be prudent to examine the selector switch to confirm it has not sustained damage. This oven features two selector switches – one for the top oven and another for the bottom oven – along with two thermostats for regulating temperature.
