Bosch, Neff or Siemens Dishwasher not emptying fault E25 Error Code
This video will show you how to clean filter and unblock the Dishwasher pump to clear the Bosch, Neff or Siemens E25 error code fault
The most common in my view is the impeller jamming on the pump normally something small like a piece of chipped china or bit of broken glass, this can be removed with tweezers or pin nose pliers. After removing it should rotate easily by hand… then you should replace the pump cover and the filter above it must be locked by aligning the blue arrows so that large bits of rubbish cannot get into the impeller again.
There are two types of pump covers one is held on with a screw and the other clips into place.
In a lot of people’s houses they have the dishwasher plumed into a sink unit and the fittings can get clogged and also blocked with fat, some have a cross inside the spigot and this gets blocked with all kinds of stuff.
When you push the dishwasher into place the pipes can get trapped and kinked so make sure that this does not happen. Sometimes the waste pipe has kinked when it was fitted and over time the dishwasher is getting worse at emptying and this is when the E25 fault starts occurring.
The last fault is the pump has failed or it is only working intermittently. The new type of modern pump has the armature inside the pump housing and is prone to the seal failing and water can get inside and reduce the inefficiency of the pump.
Plumbing fittings to check are shown in these photographs

Thanks for a clear description – ours was stuck with a small piece of glass. I was expecting the worst and washing dishes by hand over Christmas!
glad we could help
Dishwasher fixed thanks to very clear video instructions, definitely worth a beer!
thanks for the beer Martin
Hello! I got E15 on my Bosch. I emptied the base of water. I let it rest for 3 days and now the leds of water and rinse aid blink simultaneously. No other error displayed. When power on button is pressed the leds of water and rinse aid blink simultaneously, the pump just rotate for 1 second (checking), then stops. The dishwasher does not start. The pump is not blocked (I can rotate the propeller). I would greatly appreciate if you can provide any idea about this error.
Hi Paul
I have a Neff S4457 dishwasher which had water in the bottom. I held the reset buttons in when powering on then had a code C4, after letting the buttons go the code changed to PO or P0. I followed your video and found a piece of glass, piece of china in the sump but not blocking the pump but half a peanut was in the impeller cavity. The machine has completed a test and is empty of water, job completed thanks Paul.
Glad we could help you
Hi Paul
Since sorting the above problem, another developed; the dishwasher was stuck on 1 with the pump continually running even though no water was left in the sump. I had a spare new programmer here so changed it for the one I believed to be faulty and the dishwasher now woks again, not stuck on 1 with the pump running.
With the help of my son a voltmeter and a 9volt battery, we were able to chec12 V DC)k the 3 relays (Omron G5LE-1-VDC) and we found the middle one didn’t work properly, it wasn’t releasing immediately the power was removed. Replacement relays are available from UK.Farnell.com google search for fanell element 14 UK for the princely sum of £0.89 plus VAT which is a small price to pay compared with buying a new programmer. I thought I would share this info with you. I think that having a jammed pump impeller back in January has likely contributed to the failure of this relay.
Excellent tutorial.
Problem solved. Thank you!
Enjoy the beer!
thanks for the beer Mathew
What a great, easy to understand tutorial. This totally non-mechanical girl did what you said, used a ShopVac to suck out the water and a piece of glass, and now it works! You rock!!!
thanks glad we could help. good idea with the vac
Thanks for the vid saved me lots of money
I am glad we could help remember to support our site or even just buy us a beer.
Thanks – just unblocked my Siemens dishwasher pump – brilliant, easy to follow the video.
Thank you, much appreciated. Great instructions. Saved me a visit from repair man and I’m feeling very proud of myself.
Amazing! My dishwasher is fixed. Thanks so much for the excellent tutorial
Yaaaaay!!! Thank you SO MUCH for this!. You just saved me a week long wait for the repair man to arrive…and coming from a house that runs the dishwasher at LEAST once a day, you have no idea how miserable that wait would have been.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!
Mate, worked a charm, bought you beer. Cheers!
I was quite negative about the instructions, but WOW, there WAS a small piece of broken glass inside, and managed to get it out myself!! Thank you so much for the video, you made my day! ????????
Yet another satisfied customer! Information is power! I thank you so very much!

I had allmost given up, since the impeller moved freely when reaching in and turning it, and the water flowed easily when lowering the waste pipe. This video made me take a second look, and there it was: The not-so-much missed rubber band. Thanks a lot!!!
Kind regards from Norway,
Øyvind.
Thanks very much – perfect solution; 3 small flakes of mussel shell were the culprits for us!
Steve
Hugely helpful, found this video right near the top of my search. Took 2 minutes to get the water out, unsnapped the plastic piece protecting the pump and found a wooden toothpick in there! Saved $200 service call probably. Biggest mental test was actually getting the top drawer out, which had a lot more mechanisms and levers on my Bosch 800 series than shown in the video here.
Hi Paul,
I have a Siemens Sx65t090eu/01 that does not drain completely. Remaining amount of water differs from wash to wash but range from covering all of the coarse filter to standing in the fine filter. Remaining water usually contains some soap.
Drain pipe from machine to kitchen drain has been cleaned and check.
Impeller and pump has been cleaned.
Same result. Looking at replacing drain pimp but are there other things I could consider before?
Best regards
Torsten

Brilliant tutorial!! Very clear instructions to fix Bosch Dishwasher displaying E25 Watertap message. Turns out I had half of a peanut and a piece of plastic blocking the drain. I guess I still have to make dinner tonight ????Thank you you saved me a costly repair call.
