BEKO OIF21300B cooker tripping electrics due to water damage
Hi Paul! I have a Beko OIF21300B Electric Single Oven. Last week we had a major leak through the ceiling from our bathroom, water leaked through onto our cooker. The power tripped everything out in the process. My Partner tried to dry as much of the electrical parts on the cooker as best he could using a hairdryer. We didn’t turn the cooker on for the at least 4 days to be sure it was dry, At first everything seemed perfect and the cooker was running fine, then as you can guess it popped the electrics again. Now when i turn the cooker on the display lights come on but the cooker does not work or heating up. Do you have any ideas please?

I will try and help with this problem with your Beko OIF21300B Single Oven cookers
First of all let me say how sorry I am to hear you had a flood and that it has caused issues with your oven.
There may be damage to the control if it got wet which may cause a short.
A short might prevent the oven from working and it might trip a breaker but I don't think there is much chance that this could cause a fire.
There will most likely be damaged to the electrical parts but mostly the problem won't be safety it will be the oven not working.
Be sure everything is dried out before you try to use it or test it.
You will need to test the element and fan motor, thermostat, selector switch
I would suggest a technician check it and it may be possible the damage would be covered by insurance if verified by a technician.
For your future reference, I’ve included some Common faults with these BEKO OIF21300B Oven cookers to assist you in the future or anyone else reading this.
- The oven will not turn on
The first thing you need to check is that the oven timer is not on auto if it is, turn it on to manual. - No Heat in Oven
If the fan is running and the thermostat light comes on but you get no heat (or just the thermostat light on in non-fan ovens and cookers) then the probability is that the fan element or oven elements have failed. - Electricity trips (Rcd) when I turn the oven on or grill
This is normally an element that has gone to earth, This is a well-known fault with electric ovens, the insulation breaks down in the elements and trips the RCD , best way is to stick a meter on each element and check that they have not got earth leaks on them. But this can also be a wiring fault. - The grill element doesn't work
This would usually indicate that the grill element is faulty. Check these: Grill element, Oven changeover switch, Overheat thermostat, Main oven thermostat, if used to regulate the grill temperature. - The oven fan is not working or spinning correctly (slow) or is noisy
The fan motor may need to be replaced see video on this also the cooling fan motor can cause same problems. - The oven overheats and burns everything
Normally this is a simple thermostat failure which would manifest itself as this symptom. - The oven or cooker cuts out after it's been on for a while
This is an overheating problem which can be caused by the fan motor or main oven thermostat or a faulty safety thermostat that will be causing the problem. It can also be caused by a failure of the cooling fan, where fitted, but usually these go noisy before failing, Safety thermostats are used to prevent the oven or cooker overheating and will shut the oven down.
I hope this information helps but submit another question with any additional details for further assistance.
