COOKOLOGY SFO57BK inner part of the grill, not heating up
Hi Paul, bought this cooker online about a year ago and for some unknown reason the grill only works on the outer side. It does not heat up on the inside and I don't know whether it's the grill element that's faulty or a switch could you help me

I will try and help with this problem COOKOLOGY SFO57BK oven
Hi William, this can only be one of two faults either. The grill element is faulty or it is possible that the selector switch or thermostat may only be working on one side the easiest way to test this is to actually check the electricity supply going to the grill element, you will need a multimeter to do this. I will put the basic instructions below and I will also add some videos at the bottom of the page to assist you.
-
Safety first: Before starting any work on your cooker, ensure that it is completely switched off and disconnected from the power supply. This will prevent any electrical accidents or injuries.
-
Access the cookology element: Depending on the specific model of your oven cooker, the dual drill element may be located at the top oven cavity. Remove any oven racks or trays that might obstruct your access to the element.
-
Remove the screws or clips: The element is typically held in place by a couple screws at the back on the mounting plate and slides out after you have disconnected the wires. Use a screwdriver or pliers to remove these fasteners and detach the element from its mounting.
-
Disconnect the electrical wires: Carefully disconnect the wires attached to the element. These wires are usually connected by simple push-on connectors or screw terminals. Take note of the wire placements or take a picture to ensure proper reconnection later.
-
Remove the old element: Once the wires are disconnected, gently pull the element forward, being cautious not to damage the wires or any other components. You may need to wiggle it slightly to loosen it from its housing.
-
Install the new element: fitting in reverse process
Please note that these instructions are general guidelines, and the specific steps may vary depending on the make and model of your oven cooker. It's always a good idea to consult the user manual for your appliance or seek professional assistance if you are uncertain or uncomfortable performing the task yourself.
