How to replace your control knob on a cooker or oven

Cooker & Oven Control Knobs

If your oven’s control knobs are broken or the numbers are worn off, it’s easy to replace them with brand new one.

There are different types of knob but I will show you the main types.

The first knob is held with a tension plate inside which keeps the pressure on the shaft to stop the knob falling off.

This last type is a bit more elaborate, this sits flush in the cooker facial panel and when pressed pops out, it still has a pin inside holding it to the shaft but can fail on the spring system inside.

The second type has a sprung metal case around the plastic shaft to stop the plastic splitting therefore holding the knob onto the shaft.

This last type is a bit more elaborate, this sits flush in the cooker facial panel and when pressed pops out, it still has a pin inside holding it to the shaft but can fail on the spring system inside.
