Whenever you are testing your Hoover VHV 781C Tumble Dryer the first thing you should do is check the heater element thermostats on top, if these are good then you need to test the heating element, if this is also good then there is usually some type of sensor or thermostat on the front of the tumble dryer Hoover VHV 781C Tumble Dryer depending whether it's a condenser dryer or vented dryer. If all of these components are showing that they are in good order, then there is a possibility it may be the relay on the circuit board. If you follow the video tutorials below, they will assist you how to check the relay, the heater and the thermostats on your Hoover VHV 781C Tumble Dryer.
Here are some other problems that the heating system on the Hoover VHV 781C Tumble Dryer suffers with
Both condenser and vented tumble dryers use very similar heating systems. They usually have one or two thermostat or sensors on the front and one or two thermostats on the back on the heating element.
Thermostat’s fail for several reasons:
- The machine is interrupted in mid-cycle without letting the machine cool down (opening the door to check washing can cause this)
- Bad air flow through the machine (caused by not cleaning filters etc.) see these videos
- Overloading can restrict air flow on the Hoover VHV 781C Tumble Dryer.
- Tumble dryers normally have two thermostats fitted on the heating element housing which is located on the back. These are prime candidates when diagnosing no heat faults on tumble dryers.
One thermostat is normally the cycle thermostat and the other is a safety thermostat this is the one that normally blows when overheating takes place.
