I will try and help with your Hotpoint Aquarius TCFS93BGP condenser tumble dryer problem
As this is a condenser tumble dryer, there are a few reasons this might be happening you may have a faulty door lock, it is possible that you have a faulty heating system, this would mean you will need to test the heating element and all the thermostats around the machine,
The water container may be full of water or the pump reservoir at the back of the machine is not transferring the water to the reservoir, I have some videos below to assist you in diagnosing the problems with the tumble dryer. and also a full exploded diagram with all the parts for this model of the machine listed below.

Hotpoint Aquarius condenser dryer spinning away no drying much all lights flashing. I Have several times already emptied water, cleaned filter and cleaned condenser but it always starts spinning again with all lights flashing. Is this a control board problem? Or what could it be . It is only 2 years old with low usage. Please advise. I live in rural Ireland and am engineer so.must fix myself. But I need to understand what part I need to replace. Thank you. Dudley
Hey Dudley, sounds like you’ve got a bit of a puzzle with your Hotpoint Aquarius dryer there. You’re spot on about checking the pump system and the float switch – that’s often a key player in these situations. Let me break it down a bit more for you.
The float switch, as you might know, is a safety device in the condenser dryer. Its job is to detect the level of water in the pump unit. When water reaches a certain level, indicating the container is full, the switch triggers and alerts the system, which in turn activates the lights on your dryer as a warning. If this switch is sticking or malfunctioning, it could be sending false signals, causing those lights to flash and the dryer to behave unexpectedly.
So, when you strip down the pump system, what you want to do is carefully inspect the float switch. Look for any signs of stickiness, obstructions, or damage. If it’s sticky, a good clean might do the trick. If it’s damaged, replacing it should solve the problem.
Also, you mentioned ensuring the flow of water from the pump unit to the collection tray. That’s a great point. This pathway can sometimes get clogged with lint, fluff, A blockage here could prevent water from being efficiently pumped out, leading to problems similar to what you’re experiencing. Cleaning this pathway thoroughly can often restore proper function.
Remember, with your dryer being just 2 years old and low in usage, it’s less likely (though not impossible) to be a major component like the control board. These issues are more often related to the water handling components, as you’ve rightly identified.
Lastly, while you’re at it, check the condenser unit too. A clogged condenser can impede airflow, affecting the drying efficiency. It’s good practice to give it a thorough clean periodically.
Hope this helps, Dudley. With your skills as an engineer, I’m sure you’ll have it sorted in no time. Safe repairs and let us know how it goes!
