How to replace a washing machine motor on a Bosch, Neff, Siemens & Balay.

Replacing a motor on a washing machine might sound scary, but it's a surprisingly easy to replace. We are working on a Bosch but this video is good for Bosch, Neff, Siemens or Balay washing machines.
To order your washing machine motor you will need your full model number (This is normally around the washing machine door frame on a sticker) and also your motor Type, written on the motor Label.

1. Remove the lid and the back panel.

2. You need to remove the washing machine belt that is attached to the motor and drum pulley.

3. You will now need to remove the bolts that attach the motor to the washing machine drum.

4. Remove the wiring plug and earth wire.

5. Using a flat blade screwdriver ease the motor of the drum brackets or lugs.

6. Now that the motor is off you will be able to check the motor to see if the motor brushes are worn if not you might have a more serious problem and might need to get the motor checked or the PCB might have failed (printed circuit board)

I noticed in one of your videos you didn’t show how to remove the bottom plate cover from the Bosch washing machine . In the video shown the bottom plate cover was already off. I need to replace the motor. I noticed it didn’t have screws . It had some sort of small metal rods that have rounded ends. How should I remove them. . I have an older model Bosch washing machine. I also noticed black soot on the bottom plate cover when I took the back plate cover off. Is this a sign of a blown motor ?. Thanks for your great videos.

    Hello.
I’m trying to replace the bearings on my siemens washer dryer (WD12D523GB/02).
I followed your video about replacing this item and I have got as far as removing the the pulley wheel from the back of the drum. I am stuck now because I am confronted with a steel drum which does not split and I cannot see how to remove the bearings as I can only get to the rear of the machine. Do I need a bearing puller? Please help.

    Thank you
    Dan
