How to enter test mode or diagnostic mode on Samsung washing machine
This video will show you how to enter test mode or diagnostic mode on your Samsung washing machine.
It is important to have the drum empty in test mode on all Series 5 ecobubble, QuickDrive, direct drive, digital inverter,
It is recommended to run the calibration mode after doing any work on your appliance see other video on this
to enter test mode on samsung ecobubble and similar models
The two machines I was doing the demonstration on Press spin and option while pressing the on/off button (all Lights will be on)
1 = WF90F5E3U4, WF90F5E3U4W, WF90F5E5U, WF90F5E5U4, WF90F5E5U4W, WF90F5E5U4X, WF90F5EBU4, WF90F5EBU4W, WF9EF5E3U4W.
on the models below it is spin and delay start while pressing the on/off button (all Lights will be on)
2= WF80F5E0W4W, WF80F5E2W4W, WF80F5E2W4X, WF80F5ECW4W, WF8EF5E0W4W
on most Samsung models it's always button 3rd and 4th going from left to right
Rotate dial anti-clockwise till it gets to tse
What the temperature button does in test mode
the temp button will select water valves allowing you to fill the machine, take water level to the bottom of the seal.
you can test the water valves individually by pressing the temp button, the soapbox drawer conditioner chamber will not fill with any water due to the fact that both valves need to be activated for this to fill.
running a full-Service test cycle it will help you find faults like
Code starts with a number 0, 1C, 1E, 2, 3C, 3E, 3E1, 3E2, 3E3, 3E4, 3CP, 3CP, 4C, 4E, 3, 4C2, 4E1, 4E2, 4Ed, 5C, 5E, 4, 6E, 8C, 5, 8E,9E1, 9E2, 9H1, 6, 11E, 12E, 7,13E, 14E, 8,
Code starts with a letter AC6, AC, AE,bE1, bE2, bE3,CE, Cb, dC, DC, DC1, dE, dE1, DC3, DDC, ddC, dE2, E1, E2, E3, E4, E5, E6, E7, E8, E9, EA, EB, EC, FE, H1, HC, HE, HE1, HE2, HE3, HOT, LC, LC1, LE, LE1, OC, OE, OF, Plo, Sud, t1, t2, tSt, tE, tE1, tE2, tE3, tC1, tC2, tC3, Ub, UE, UC
What the Rinse button does in test mode
The Rinse button tests the pumps there are normally two pumps on Samsung washing machines
- one pump is for emptying the water out of the machine.
- the other pump is called a recirculation pump.
What the spin button does in test mode
The spin button on the Samsung washing machine will test the heating circuit for 5 seconds by energizing the element and testing Ntc as well
The heater should be drawing about 9 amp at 240 volts. the heating element is a 2000 watt element and should have an ohms reading of 28.8 or thereabout depending on age.
the NTC sensor value will depend on which one was fitted.
you could use a multimeter at this point if you are having problems with the heater, to see if you have voltage coming from the printed circuit board to the element.
What the start button does in test mode
To do this test it's a good idea to have the Drum full of water to the bottom of the door seal as you will also be able to test the heater etc while this is in operation.
the motor will we'll agitate in One Direction then switch to the other direction simulating the normal wash cycle, you will also be able to check the water valves heating element and both pumps while this is in operation.
Postion 5 on the control dial SPn is for testing the motor on varied spin
this will test the motor on your Samsung washing machine through varied increases in spin speeds checking PCB outputs and also motor rpm
you will see maximum speed displayed and also as the motor increases rpm the display will show the spin speeds
the setting for this will vary from machine to machine.
