Test Mode Sequence

If you have problems with the drum not turning or spinning. Then check the carbon brushes in the motor first and test the motor separately before running this Diagnostic sequence as you could do damage to the PCB.

To enter test mode.

It is advisable that washing machine be switched off or at least 5 minutes prior to entering test mode

With the machine switched off shut the door and turn the dial to the 12 o'clock position. Now press and hold down the start/pause button and press the on/off on, while holding the start/pause button down for 3 seconds until the display shows a number or error code.

Now that you've entered the Diagnostic / test mode, remember every time you press the start/pause button this will be one advance the program to a new test.

  • 1: All the the display or led’s will flash to check that they are working and door will now be locked.
  • 2: Drum does a clockwise rotation.
  • 3: Drum rotates anticlockwise rotation
  • 4: Goes into spin mode on clockwise rotation make sure there are no clothes in machine before performing this test as washer will spin at its fastest rpm.
  • 5: right hand water valve check
  • 6: left hand water valve check
  • 7: both water valve are now activated and all 3 compartments will have water flowing in.
  • 6: This is the full wash and heat test. Machine will start to fill to the correct water level and continue to heat and wash.
  • 7: the machine will empty. the pump should drain the water away.
  • 8:After it has finished turn the machine off and on this will go back to normal mode.

    Hi there,

Having an issue with my Beko WMB 81241LW. It seems to be stuck in a cycle and won’t progress. ive done the self test and the only code the display is showing is 1518. During self test it performs steps 1 & 2 fine then it just wont progress any further and is making a slight buzzing noise. Any help appreciated!

    I’ve had code F13
Then 04 06 on beko WM 95135 LB
I’ve tried doing the self diagnostic test. My washer skips the spin part but does all the rest.
When I turn it on normally to try and test it starts to fill and then drains and just keeps doing this, doesn’t go any further, any ideas before expensive repair from beko

My Beko washing machine comes up with error 0428. What does that mean?

My machine keeps showing E–. What does this mean. It does not give a number just two lines after the E. I find if I rotate the settings to the right to cottons I get this error, but if I rotate to the left all the way round to the same cottons setting then it shows the timer and allows the wash. It is so strange that the direction I turn the dial has different results.

I have had the machine for approx 4 years and it never used to do this. It only started over the last week.

If is the same for any wash, just does not like clockwise for some reason.

My Beko WM71641 built in, front loading washing machine is working but leaks towards the end of the cycle. I have twice run an empty cleaning cycle to clear the pipes but the machine still leaks. I have drained the water out of the machine and found nothing in the water. Any advice as to how to best approach the problem. My son should be able to follow any videos – or would you recommend I call an appliance repair technician.

To read the error code you can also hold button 1. and 3. under the display while the machine is turned on. It doesn’t clear the error code, but only displays it. Works for Beko WMB 71242
